Associate Members

Apply to become an associate memberContractor Associate Membership

Associate membership of the SHiFT Group is open to all contractors, suppliers of services and products to the fibre industry and training organisations. Members will be expected to uphold the highest safety standards and commit to working to the minimum standards published on the SHiFT website where applicable.

If you are interested in becoming an associate member please complete the attached application for and send to Roger@shiftgroup.info Contractors who provide civils, poling or fibre installation etc will need to complete the ‘Contractor Associate Membership’ form as we will require some additional information on your safety management system.

Associate Members are encouraged to offer discounts to other members of SHiFT Group, these discounts will be advertised on the SHiFT website.

The benefits of being an associate member are:

  • ‘Back-linking’ on SHiFT Group website.
  • Consulted with (invited to comment) on SHiFT Guidance documentation if appropriate.
  • May be invited to sit on relevant SHiFT Working Groups
  • Article in SHiFT Quarterly Newsletter
  • Use of SHiFT ‘Associate’ Logo
  • On direct mailing list for SHiFT comms
  • First option on conference exhibitor stands plus 1 x free ticket.
  • Benefit from suppliers discounts offered to members.
  • Access to network for advice.

New associate members are to be agreed by the Directors of the SHiFT Group.

Associate members must adhere to the principles of the SHiFT Charter.

An initial associate membership subscription of £500 p.a. to cover Group expenditures has been agreed, and this is proportionate to the expected running costs i.e., Admin support, maintaining a website, meeting arrangements and provisions, marketing etc. In subsequent years the annual subscription rate will be set by the Directors of SHiFT Group.

A member may be removed, by majority agreement, from the Group for misconduct i.e. failing to meet safety standards, abusive or uncooperative behaviour or for repeatedly failing to attend meetings and/or participate in the Groups discussions or objectives.
